First Branch of Bank of Bahrain Opens in Kerala

Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK) has opened its first branch in Kerala at Aluva. With this, the bank’s total branch strength in India comes to three. The Bahrain-headquartered bank has branches in Mumbai and Hyderabad.
A. Karim Ahmed Bucheery, CEO, BBK Group, said the bank has sought the RBI permission to open a branch in Delhi. The bank’s business size was $8 billion. It has 17 branches in different countries, including three in India. Outside Bahrain, they have branches in Kuwait, Dubai and India. BBK has infused a capital of $ 30 million in 2011 and is looking at further fusion in the current year.
