GCDA and UK Football Club to have Agreement for Ambedkar Stadium

The Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) has expressed its willingness to offer Ambedkar Stadium to English football club Reading to start a football coaching facility in the city. While GCDA would provide the land, the football club or the All India Football Federation (AIFF) or the Kerala Football Association (KFA) should take the initiative in developing infrastructure at the stadium, GCDA officials said after holding talks with representatives of the English club and KFA on Thursday.
GCDA will retain the ownership of the stadium. We are open to signing an agreement for a mutually agreed period of time for a fixed amount of rent. AIFF and KFA will act as mediators for signing a memorandumof understanding (MoU),” GCDA chairman N Venugopal said.
The Reading team visited the Ambedkar stadium and expressed their willingness to provide coaching facilities for the development of Kerala football at the grassroots level.GCDA officials held talks with the football club’s chief executive Nigel Howe, director Chris Samuelson and its India representative Suresh Malkani and KFA secretary P Anil.
