Two officials from the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) will meet jailed cricketer S Sreesanth in Delhi on Monday. The officials are on a fact-finding mission, as Sreesanth has claimed that he has been trapped and is innocent.
“One of the officials, Sreejith Nair, is a criminal lawyer by profession and the Alappuzha district secretary of the KCA. The other represents the district (Ernakulam) from which Sreesanth hails,” KCA secretary T.C. Mathew said.
Sreesanth was picked up by Delhi Police on May 16 from Mumbai, on allegations of spot fixing in the India Premier League tournament. He has played in 27 Tests (87 wickets), 53 ODIs (75) and 10 T20Is (seven wickets).
