Kerala RSS activist case: CBI suspects wider political conspiracy.
In a case of 2014 RSS Kerala activist E Manoj Murder CBI supects wider political conspiracy. Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe has zeroed in on an alleged employee of a CPM newspaper in the state for his key role in the conspiracy and harbouring of the prime accused. CBI sources says that “We are probing the political conspiracy angle in the murder even though an arrested accused had hinted at personal enmity as the motive,”
The CPM state unit has rejected any role in the case by any of its functionary. The agency is likely to soon arrest the alleged newspaper employee as part of its probe, in which 18 accused have been arrested so far, said the source.
“Accused number 19 is an employee of a CPM daily in the state and is among two others who have been identified for having played a key role in the conspiracy,” said the source, adding, “He had organised the escape from the crime scene of accused number one , Vikraman who has been arrested. He then sheltered Vikraman and got him treated at a health facility for burn wounds allegedly suffered in the attack.”
Manoj, a functionary of the RSS in politically volatile Kannur district, had succumbed to injuries after he and his friend Pramod came under attack by alleged CPM workers on September 1 last year.
