Lifetime Awards by Sangam Kala Group

Actor Kaviyoor Ponnamma and singer Thoppil Anto have been chosen for lifetime achievement awards by Sangam Kala Group, Cochin chapter.The awards will be presented on the 35th All-India Singing Competition, organised by Sangam Kala, on August 15 at Changampuzha Park at Edappally here.

The Sangam Kala Group has been honouring artists for the last 20 years.Those honoured with the awards earlier include V Dakshinamoorthy, P Leela, Brahmanandan, Srikumaran Tampi, Janardanan, Gopi, Thilakan, Sukumari, Pappukkutty Bhagavathar, P Gokulapalan, Thiruvizha Jayashankar, Emil Isac and Carnatic musician K G Jayan.

Over 100 competitors from Kasargod to Tiruvananthapuram will participate in the finale round of the contest.The winners will take part in a state-level singing contest on September 27 in New Delhi.
