National Games: Kerala bag 28 Gold Medals
In the ongoing 35th National Games, Kerala bag five more Gold Medals, Kerala bagged 28 Gold, 32 Silver and 38 Bronze medals, (total 98) till the noon. Now Kerala is on the third place in the overall Ranking.
Earlier Kerala’s women canoers — Athira, Subi, Betty and Nithya — baged a team gold in the 500M Four Canoeing, taking state’s tally of precious metal to 23 after T.P. Anjitha, continuing the state’s dream run at velodrome, won the elite women’s 3km individual pursuit in the National Games on Wednesday.
Enroute to gold, Kerala women faced tough challenge from Madhya Pradesh canoers, who won golds in 1000 m women’s C2 and C4 races. However, Kerala eves, who were pushed to second place twice before by MP, was not ready to concede one more time. Kerala eves finished 2 secopnd ahead of MP clocking 02:15.00. Manipur finished third clocking 2:25.00.
At the Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education, Anjitha (4:22:213) bagged the yellow metal ahead of Manipur’s R.K. Abe Devi (4:23:023) and Rutuja Satpute of Maharashtra (4:23:630).
