National School Athletics Title to Kerala for 17th time in a row

Its 17th time that Kerala have wn the title of National School Athletics comprising of about 38 gold, 26 silver and 16 bronze medals.Haryana won 11 golds to finish second in the meet.
Kerala’s P. U. Chitra, V. V. Jisha and Maharastra’s Swapna Barman were crowned as individual champions of the meet.Chitra of Mundoor School in Palakkad bagged four golds by winning the senior girls’ cross-country, 1500m, 3000m and 5000m events while V V Jisha won three golds.
Sports Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan congratulated the Kerala contingent on their win. “The Government will announce rewards for these young athletes in the next Cabinet meeting,” he told.
