Kerala Premier League (KPL) being held at the International Cricket Council Global Cricket Academy under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council where Palakkad beat defending champions Dunes Cuisine Kannur Veerans by 25 runs on Friday night.
Capital (CMC) Kochi Diwans also extended their winning run by scoring a 22-run victory over Trivandrum Royals. For Palakkad, it was a crucial win, with Chandrasekhar taking two vital wickets for just 16 runs from 3.4 overs.
Palakkad coach P.G. Sundar said: “It was a very satisfying victory because it was a do or die game for both teams. Once again it was nothing but total team effort and thanks to the 500-odd fans who turned up to support our team.”
