Rs 283 Crore Medical College Foundation to be Laid by Kerala CM

Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy is scheduled to lay foundation stone for an ambitious medical college at Kasargod on November 30. State minister of health V S Shivakumar will preside over the programme.
The well equipped medical college will be built at a cost of Rs 283 crore. An area of 65 acres is identified for the purpose. A hospital of 300 beds will be constructed in the first stage of the project.
The construction will be undertaken with NABARD aid. Necessary roads are being built in the area for the purpose. Borewells have been dug for the construction. Water from the neighboring lake will be taken later. The medical college will consist of sixteen divisions including hospital, college, electricity substation etc.
The project has been undertaken by Kitco. Dr P G R Pillai has been appointed as special officer to supervise the college construction. It is worth mentioning that the medical college and hospital is coming up in an affected area.
