Health of Kerala Speaker Improves

According to several media reports the Health of Kerala Speaker G Karthikeyan has improved, earlier the reports claimed that his condition was serious.

Karthikeyann is undergoing treatment of the liver at a hospital in Bengaluru,. A top Kerala government source, who did not wish to be identified said "He (Karthikeyan) has been in the hospital there for a few days now".

Karthikeyan is stillon ventilator support and is positively responding to the treatment, according toKaumudi. Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala, Health Minister VS Sivakumar, VM Sudheeran and Deputy speaker N Shakthanhave also visited the ailing minister in HCG hospital,Bengaluru.

“Karthikeyan has been in the hospital in Bengaluru for a few days now,” said a top Kerala government source, according to IANS.

The veteran Congress leader hadgone to the United States in October 2014, where he received medical treatment from Mayo Clinic. He had also undergone ayurvedic treatment in a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram and had consulted doctors in AIIMS, New Delhi andCMC, Vellore.

G. Karthikeyann was present at the opening ceremony of the National Games held here Jan 31, but fell ill again after a few days.
