No Plan to Change In Retirement Age of Government Employees : Says Chief Minister
Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy clarified on Monday that his government has no plan to increase the retirement age of the state government employees and teachers
The retirement age was raised by the present UDF government to 56 years in March 2012, Mr. Chandy said in a written reply to a question by T.V. Rajesh of the CPI (M). He said medical colleges, dental colleges, pharmacy colleges, welfare boards, and other organisations under various government departments had raised the retirement age to 58 years and a government notification had been issued.
The retirement age of employees who joined the national pension scheme on or before April 2013 had been raised to 60 years, he added.
