The country’s largest Under-14 school football tournament Mahindra Youth Football Challenge to be held in Kozhikode district of Kerala India from 5 Dec. The Kozhikode leg will kick-off on December 5 and conclude on December 16, P N Sankaran, Official of Procam International, a Sports Management Company.
The Kerala intra-city round of the U-14 school tournament and talent hunt will feature 48 of leading soccer playing school in Kozhikode. MYFC is the Mahindra Groups Commitment to promote football at the grasroot level, he said, adding the company has partnered with Scottish football giants, Celtic Football Club, who will take on the responsibility of training and grooming young talent, identified through this initiative.
A panel of visiting coaches from Celtic FC will offer a four-day coaching camp for the winning schools.And after the six-team finals, 24 players will be shortlisted for a four-day clinic and three of them will be sent to Scotland for intensive training with the Celtic FC.
