Nation Games: Kerala to audit Expenses
On Wednesday the Congress Government in Kerala has decided to examine the accounts of the 35th national games in the wake of allegations about mismanagement of fund. Ongoing 35th edition of the games would end on February 14.
The local audit department would be asked to examine the accounts within 45 days once the national game is over Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said after the Cabinet Meeting.
The audit department would examine all aspects of the conduct of the games. The budget for the national games was fixed in 2011. The government has managed to confine the expenditures of the games held in 2015 as per the cost prepared in 2011. The valedictory function would be held as per the schedule, without any trimming of the events, he added.
