Rift Between Chandy and Chennithala

It Seems that with the Kerala Congress Govt completing its 3rd year of tenure there is a conflict between CM Oommen Chandy and Congress President Ramesh Chennithala. After the Chandy’s hugely successful Kerala Yatra, Chennithala loyalists are now openly alleging they were betrayed. “We conveyed to the Chief Minister and he has promised he is ready to accept Ramesh Chennithala and he is ready to induct him into the Cabinet. No more details have been discussed. After the Kerala Yatra, we were supposed to discuss it. They discussed it but don’t know what happened later,” said MM Hassan, senior Congress leader.
Until now Ramesh Chennithala and Oommen Chandy have denied any rifts between them. “I have not given any such interview to anyone. There is no such issue between me and the Chief Minister,” Chennithala said.
Since Lok Sabha elections just a few months away this is something the party could have well avoided. Sources said the issue has worried the Congress high command sufficiently that they have asked AK Antony to fly down and intervene.
