After PC George who was under talk for waving the BJP Prime Minister Candidate Modi T-shirt Omman Chandy and Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishan are now under talks for meeting Gujarat agriculture minister Babubhai Bokhiria on December 12.
Chief Minister Omman Chandy admitted seeing Gujarat minister and his team but denied having talked politics with him. Earlier on December 12, Gujarat minister told media in Vadodara that the delegation visited Omman Chandy on December 11 and handed over a letter written by Modi on the upcoming “statue of unity” project to him. The minister had also said that Chandy had shown keen interest in the project.
“The delegation led by Gujarat minister reached Kerala for promotional activities of BJP ahead of Lok Sabha election,” clarifies BJP state General Secretary K Surendran to India Today. The team spent five days in Kerala and had done ground work for the “run for unity” organised by BJP on December 15. The delegation comprised of Gujarat Tourism Corporation MD Sanjay Kaul, Gujarat Tourism Commissioner IP Jadeja, the member of Sardar Vallabhai Patel Rashtriya Ekta trust, besides other officials and six MLAs.
Though Chandy denied having talked anything related to politics, Gujarat minister Babubhai Bokhiria on last Thursday stated to media that Chandy expressed keen interest in Gujarat government’s statue of unity project. The 182 metre statue of Sardar Vallabhai Patel is coming up on an island on Narmada River at an estimated cost of Rs.2,074 crore.
