Assembly Adjourned Over Prevailing Heat of Solar Scam

The State Assembly resumed on Monday after an enforced recess, only to adjourn after transacting urgent business. Question hour was allowed to pass after Opposition had brokered peace pre-session with the Speaker. The Government also managed to push through the appropriation Bill before the House adjourned.
Emerging out of the House, members of the Opposition took out an impromptu rally. Earlier, Leader of Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan alleged in the House that the Chief Minister’s family was involved in the solar scam.
Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan informed the House that 50 cases have been registered all over the State under the solar scam.The solar scam involves fraudsters masquerading as promoters of solar panel business and swindling crores of rupees from unassuming customers across the State.
