Budget 2014 welcomed by Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Fianance Minister Arun Jaitley recently announced Union Budget for which the office-bearers of the Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) said that they welcome the budget and is expected to add in the growth of the country.
“Overall, the proposals in the Union Budget give hope for the growth and development of the country’s economy, both rural and urban,” KCCI chairman E P George said here. The proposal to set up an IIT in Kerala is encouraging for boosting the technical education sector.
“The move to speed up distribution of gas through pipelines will be highly beneficial for Kerala, especially Kochi, for the full capacity utilisation of the Kochi Petronet LNG plant,” he added.
“The proposal to introduce Goods Service Tax (GST) this year is laudable,” the KCCI chairman said while welcoming the proposals in the first Budget of the Modi Government. “The cities and villages have been given special provisions for development. There is provision for encouraging generation of electricity and for smooth development of the transport network. These measures are highly essential for the growth of the economy,” he pointed out.
