Congress president Sonia Gandhi is set to take the final call on revamping the Kerala cabinet to induct state unit Chief Ramesh Chennithala as a minister. After the dispute over Chennithala’s possible entry in Kerala cabinet dragged on for too long. Gandhi reportedly has decided not to precipitate the matter further.
While Chennithala has been camping in New Delhi for past few days, chief minister Oommen Chandy, who had left for Kerala only on Monday, has been asked to return to New Delhi on Thursday for a series of meeting with the central leadership. The alliance partners of the Congress in the UDF government of Kerala will also come to Delhi for joint meetings.
“I will be going to Delhi tomorrow. The high command has already started discussion on ministry revamp and a final decision will be that of the party leadership,” Chandy told reporters on Wednesday.
