Drug Peddling Should be Stopped Not Partying Says Ramesh Chennithala
Kerala State Home Minster Ramesh Chennithala said that the government is not against partying but they are against the drug peddling and drug distributor, illegal liqour , and other drugs used in party.
Mr. Chennithala was clarifying the government’s position on “disco, club, DJ, and poolside parties” in the wake of last week’s midnight raid by the police at a dance party onboard a luxury cruiser docked in Kochi. The raid had led to the seizure of a prodigious amount of liquor and a negligible quantity of narcotic drugs.
Mr. Chennithala said he was not averse to dance or DJ parties. Such social events, often organized through the social media, seemed to have found favor among youth. (The State has among the highest youth population in the country).
The State Youth Commission has welcomed the Home Minister’s stern stance against “DJ parties” in posh resorts and hotels where drugs are being reportedly abused.
