Gadgil Report Will Be Opposed in Kerala
Ramesh Chennithala the home minister of Kerala said that the Kerala Govt will strongly oppose the Gadgil Report which centre will be approving. The recommendations in the report will adversely affect the people of the state,” he said. He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the valedictory ceremony of the year-long celebration marking the 85th anniversary of the Payyannur Congress, which was attended by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, in 1928.
Justifying chief minister Oommen Chandy’s decision to keep away from the swearing-in of the new ministry at the Centre, Ramesh Chennithala said the chief minister could not attend the ceremony because of some unavoidable programmes. “The chief minister would meet the prime minister soon,” he added.
“Considering the gravity of the situation and the concern of the common people here, the state government will try and convince the central government about the adverse impacts of the recommendations,” he said.
