Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has become the first State unit of the Congress to adopt a resolution against the Bharatiya Janata Party’s recent decision to induct Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi into national politics. The resolution has dismissed the attempts of certain regional parties to forge a third front as irrelevant and impractical, saying this will only help the BJP cruise to power.
The resolution, moved by KPCC general secretary Lathika Subhash, said the induction of votaries of extreme communal politics into national politics was a matter of concern as it posed a threat to India’s secularism and development.
