T O Khader Pilla Kerala CPM Leader No More

T O Khader Pilla a senior leader of CPM Kerala died on Friday at age of 84. He is brother of T O Bava, the first president of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee. Khader Pilla was the second chairman and commissioner of the Kochi Corporation. He also served as secretary of the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation from 1972 to 1975, and secretary of the GCDA from 1975 to 1980.
After retiring from his government job, Khader Pilla turned to legal practice, and worked as an advocate in Perumbavoor. He did diploma in Urban Studies from London, and visited many foreign countries.
Khader Pilla had contested the Assembly elections in 1987 and 2001 as LDF candidate against Congress candidate K Muhammed Ali, who won on both occasions. He was very active politics, and served as CPM area committee member in Aluva, and local secretary and district vice-president of Karshaka Sangham in Kizhmad. He is survived by wife Jameela, sons Captain Ajmal, Dr Afzal, Faizal and Noufel.
